Ikea Ninja
I havn't really bothered to post anything on this at all, I didnt think there was a point as the project is a waste of time. But seeing as we have begun to do work for this.. I have decided to post about it all.
so this is the brief we were given:
IKEA BRIEFIkea are looking to change the way people shop at their stores. The client wishes to explore the relationship between customer and product, and to bring the shopping experience into the 21st century by moving from print based to screen based information dissemination, thereby leading to a more dynamic and pleasurable shopping experience.
You will need to take into account cultural, societal, environmental and parameters, and fit in with the clients global brand identity.
Initially , the following areas could be explored/ developed :
A point of entry ‘how 2 shop’ information screen based display of 20 –30 seconds, using the existing iconography as an inception.
Digital displays, (screen based or projected) to be situated in the showroom, which will guide the shoppers around the space.
A navigational device for the warehouse, to direct shoppers to the correct aisle, eg virtual map.
Your concept must be in keeping with Ikea brand identity, and produced to a highly professional level. Therefore, your initial research will include a trip to Ikea and extensive research into their off-line and on-line marketing strategies.
So after a visit to Ikea, the result we had for the project was.... NINJA'S!
This project is mainly for Multimedia students... It's mad that we are having to do this, but anyway we have to hand something in today, so Steve, Dave and myself are working together to get something done.
We have played and talked about the idea of Ninja's and found it very amusing, so this is what we are going ahead with, it's kinda taking the piss as we dont want to get chosen by Ikea to go ahead and do this.. but if we are picked, it just shows what dumbasses Ikea are.
anywho.. this is what we have done:
Concept drawings by me:

Final 3D model, designed by Steve and inspired by Dave's sketches:

Also we looked into how this would be displayed in store.. here are just 2 ideas:
