Reading Festival 2006 Review
Well, I'm home now. Well I been home about 2 days now but only now bothered to make a post.
No photos yet, but soon there will be.The majority of photos were of bands and DoTheVackas
Overall the weekend was good, but not as good as how last year was. So much happened last there that it's hard to compete against. This year was still fun, yet more chilled out. Got involved with some Trolley antics, met up with friends me met with last year and had fun with them. It was a fun weekend, except when we had to go home and I was very ill and throwing up, which was annoying as I was the one driving, well.. we got home eventually.
These were the bands I managed to see
Friday:
Dashboard Confessional (were boring)
Subways (entertaining and better than the previous times I seen them)
Panic! At The Disco (still not a fan of the music, but I have some respect for them now after putting on a good show, and I felt sorry for the lead singer who was knocked out by a bottle during the first song, but recovered and continued the set and won the crowd over. They also gave us an interesting cover of Radiohead - Karma Police)
Eagles Of Death Metal (only saw the first few songs, but they had such a good crowd, packed out the tent. it was pretty good with what I saw)
Kaiser Chiefs (good fun band, they do well as a live act. really enjoyable)
Saturday:
Be your own pet (always been curious to see them, glad I did, mad mad set, really enjoyed it)
The Automatic ( seen them before and enjoyed them, this time was even more enjoyable as I now know their songs)
Feeder (fantastic as always, just a shame the set was short due to the time slot they were in)
Arctic Monkeys (Was alright really, was mainly waiting for Muse)
Muse (wow, Best muse gig I ever been to, It's actually on par with seeing them at Earls Court back in 2004, absolutly fantastic gig. Definatly the best gig of the weekend and i'm not saying that to be be biased)
Sunday:
Less than Jake (fun as always, great festival band)
Bullet For My Valentine (we were hanging around on the mainstage cause there wasn't much to do on sunday, so gave these another go.. still can't get into them, In my opinion i thought it was a noisy mess)
Slayer (was interesting for the first few songs then got boring)
My Chemical Romance (what an asshole, was fun seeing Gerard Way talk shit and see them get bottled)
Placebo (good live band, they had a problem with the amp so had to leave for a while, where we were treated with female members of the crowd being picked out by the camera men who flashed there bits out to everyone until Placebo came back on)

Thank You NME.com
It's official!
I'm going to see Muse!
Feels so good to say that :)
So yea.. The site I originally used to buy tickets from.. well basically they suck, I have given my details, but no reply yet. They said to wait upto 48hours for an email confirmation of the order, but nothing yet. If nothing by Friday i'l phone up to cancel my order.
If I do get the extra tickets, i'm giving them to my mates who need them, but unfortunatly they are at a high price... i'm sure we can sort something out though
From Efestivals, someone posted that NME.com had tickets on sale. So I went straight over to find it sold out. After much refreshing they came back on sale and I grabbed 2 more tickets for me and my bro. It then sold out again, with much more refreshing, my friends managed to get tickets :)
So all is well, and we shall all be seeing Muse this year!

Reading Festival 2006.. Am I Going?

So far an amazing line up. But.. am i going to see it?
of course I am! Even though the festival sold out right in front of me as II was trying to order tickets, it won't stop me.
Face Value: £135 plus booking fee = £142
I searched and searched and eventually found a site that was selling at £195, plus with some tax thing, I paid £236 to go. But I havn't received a confirmation email yet... So I'm a bit nervous about it all.
If it falls through, I have signed up to get an email from meanfiddler saying when more tickets are out, but its gonna be just as crazy, but we shall have to wait and see...
I'm not going to miss Muse!
