I read about the Tesla in Wired – 0-60mph in 4 seconds, Lotus design AND most importantly, it’s all electric…fuck yeah!

So, if this is all electric, I’m sure I’m not the first to think this – what if the cars had the roof covered in photovoltaic cells? Wonder how much that would add to the range? The funding guy behind Tesla also funds a photovoltaic company…synergy!
Great business model – hitched to presumed improvements (and price drops) in battery technology…so releasing a low(er) priced saloon in the next few years is a great idea.
Other interesting thing was the ability for these guys to actually create a small employee-base car company:
