The BBC massively improves it’s web offerings…
Average Reading Time: less than a minute.
Check out the BBC2 Homepage, it’s completely focused around the actual shows – showing them, launching long clips and even full series archives, including the opportunity to see the entire series of ‘The Armstrongs’ – one of the most beautifully edited, absorbing documentary series I’ve seen for a long time…
I love how they’ve simplified the page focus around the shows and create a destination for catching up…I’m sure this is a trial to see the response to being able to watch entire shows online.
Two questions – where are the downloads? I want to watch the shows on the train. And, I wonder whether the viewing of complete shows is limited to the UK – if you visit the site from the USA, do they block access?
Interestingly, the full content is focused on documentary/factual, I guess, because of rights issues with drama – this is also the same with the Beeb’s industry-leading podcast content…all speech/factual, no music…
…Still as a _proud_ licence-fee payer, I’m really chuffed to see content so accessible outside of the broadcast schedule.
