Jeffrey Zeldman on Hitchcock
Nice Zeldman write up on Hitchcock and the creative battles he had with studios and parallels/lessons with client relationships. And weirdly, I was just mailing a co-worker about Lost in La Mancha a *brilliant* film about the film-making process – loads of lessons for any remotely creative project.
Of course, no one touches the master of process, Mr Coppola – Hearts of Darkness is also a brilliant insight into the production of a movie, as are the extras on the Godfather box set – Spot the De Bono thinking techniques when he’s discussing the wedding scene.
Almost forgot – American Movie – another brilliant film-making documentary – not quite the masterful insights into managing studio pressures, but a valuable insight nonetheless ;-)
