We spend so much time looking at the potential of the Internet to change the way we live, work, learn and relate to one another, that it is easy to forget that the real world, with all its savagery and misplaced passions is just outside our doors.
Participo is a trans-Atlantic blog and its authors have long ties to New York, Washington, DC and London, all sites of terrorist attacks over the past several years. We have friends, relatives, colleagues and correspondents in these cities who have been affected in one way or another by the events of September 11, 2001 and July 7, 2005.
I am sure I speak for all Particip-ants in wishing condolences and comfort to the victims of todays attack, their friends and families.
