Google IPO overview from exec team
Of course, I should post a video of myself, but speed of typing and all that. Anyway, here’s a video of the Google IPO pitch – it’s really interesting and an effective way of getting their perspective across.
Marc Canter has a nice write up on this and using video in general to convey a rich communication.
I was suprised at how poor quality the video was, and these guys won’t win any charisma awards, but it’s better than nothing. And as I’ve said before, real people are interesting – the relative speed of recording, optimising and sticking as part of a blog will increase.
The increasing ubiquity of video capability in cellphones will speed this up. I mean, it’s small blurred video, but coupled decent audio does the job.
Now, how do I meta-tag the video, break into chunks and allow quick entry to relevant bits without spending a day?
This reminds me, I’ve wanted to write about how excited I’m by Google’s long-term, anti-speculative quarter focus by issuing dual-class shares. I also think it’s interesting that they compare these shares as ‘normal’ amongst media companies (and BerkShire Hathaway). Google rightly positions itself as a media/advertising company, not a primarily a techy company.
