My biz partner has been thinking about using podcasting for recording lectures and teacher’s comments – loudish – Podcasting for Education:
“…Teacher’s notes, student’s notes other information could be easily dictated and recorded and encapsulated into a podcast, news feed information could be added to the mix, just as we do for the corporate area…”
I swear I independently thought of this this morning, but I’m currently in the habit of re-inventing Phil’s ideas and repeating them back as my own 12hrs later (Have I got Job’s syndrome?), I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt :-)
It would be great for kids to automatically amass their teacher’s lessons in audio – the overhead for the teacher would be minimal – open the laptop – set the mic (if it’s a ibook/powerbook, the internal mics seem good enough). Click record. Teach as normal. That’s it. Low barrier to entry and huge utility. Great ‘professional’ use of podcasting.
