New formats for conferences (Scripting News):

As with our evening confab, it would be off the record, just a discussion that might or might not lead somewhere. You have to get beyond the usual surface-level stuff because you have three hours to fill. Who knows what might happen?”
I really, really like Dave Winer’s ideas for ‘conferences’ – this approach is even more approachable, and easier to setup than some of his other sounds ideas for HyperCamps and unconferences.
I keep toying with the idea of ‘supper clubs’ – very Victorian, I know – but basically dinner parties without the social angst…group of smart people in a room, some food and booze…creating a discussion topic and multiple groups on the same evenign would be bloddy interesting.
