is this unusual?
Average Reading Time: less than a minute.
I was talking to my mum on Skype this evening…and suddenly realised that she doesn’t use the address bar on her web browser to go to urls – she has google set as her home page and types in names, part urls etc etc in google’s search window and clicks through from there. Do loads of people do this?
Interesting – she’s not daft and is a reasonably experience computer user. I’m not even sure why I’m slightly perturbed by this, as thinking about it, it’s quite a smart idea – at least from an efficiency perspective – I mean, google will even spellcheck for you :-)
Quite interesting – google/safari is her web interface – imagine the same model on a TV screen – the efficiency of the results – with a short description etc. would go really well.
From a web design perspective, I can see a vastly reduced interface (or any at all?) and subsume all entry into content via search…
