e-Learning Glossary
Average Reading Time: less than a minute.
They call this glossary “World’s biggest, or at least most irreverent, e-Learning glossary!” That description is pretty accurate, with entries such as:
“Reusable Learning Object (RLO)
A specific chunk of content and code that represents an assessment, exercise, instructional content, etc. In theory, RLO’s can be used in many different courses. Like the tooth fairy, Santa Claus and the famed jackalope, RLO’s are frequently discussed and seldom ever seen.”
(It would be more useful if the entries each bore individual titles and anchors so an article on another site could link terms directly to the glossary entry. A little bit of CSS, a little bit of XML…)
Still, it’s a pretty nice resource to add to my bookmark list, and the rest of the site is well worthwhile, too. There is a very nice collection of articles, tools and white papers, as well as a very thorough, categorized list of links.
