So, the fairly useless benign LinkedIn actually got really interesting, by adding a groups feature (by groups, of course, I mean companies).

Now they have a decent core of data to mine, they're able to show interesting aggregate data about employee flow, and hiring trends amongst other insights into companies.

I think Ross Mayfield's analysis is the most insightful - I'll recommend you just go read his blog...
